Katie and I go wayyyyy back. Freshmen year of college, to be exact!
It was a simpler time back then.
A time…without internet.
Now, to be clear, it’s not that the internet didn’t exist when I was a freshmen in college, but rather it’s that the internet didn’t exist on Christopher Newport University campus until about two and a half months into our freshmen year.
And to this day, no one knows why. All we knew was what happened next.
Bad internet meant A) spotty AOL Instant Messenger chat at the crucial time when it was desperately important for me to meet people and trick them into thinking that I might be cool, which in turn led to B) people just kinda leaving their dorm room doors open all the time, resulting in C) actual people meeting each other and hanging out in real life!
Katie was in my dorm, and–due to the aforementioned forcing of students to meet each other in person and discover their non-AOL Screen Names (otherwise known as their Real Names)–I knew that her name was Katie! I remember seeing her around campus a lot, but it wasn’t until after college that our friend groups mysteriously collided and Katie and I became good friends!
I met Jorge a couple years ago during a crazy halloween bar crawl in DC. I’m 75% sure I bought a huge spicy burrito somewhere near 930 club at 2:00am that night, wearing my Rebel X-Wing pilot jumpsuit. I was excited to find out that Jorge was an accomplished DP, editor, + videographer! It’s been awesome getting to know Jorge; he’s an amazing guy and I’m really happy that he and Katie found each other! I can’t wait for their wedding in just a few short weeks!!
Last week we met up in Eastern Market for some pizza and an engagement session (my favorite combination), so here’s a few images of these two!
