Wedding: Jenny & Jon in Virginia

Today I have the honor of posting the best wedding I have ever shot.  Not because the shots were particularly good although I think they’re great! Not because it was a particularly nice day because it kind of wasn’t (it was something like 106 degrees…it was a pretty day but SWELTERING).  It’s because the person getting married is one of my best friends.  I met Jenny when we were both six years old.  I still remember seeing her at a block party (btw block parties are incredible we need to bring that back!), and our moms introduced us and we immediately became best friends.  Over the years we’ve managed to stay in touch, and when she introduced me to Jon I instantly knew they were perfect for each other.  They love each other very much and I cannot tell you how amazing it was to be asked to photograph this wedding.
You’ll see from the photos, but she was married in the backyard of her parents’ house, on the street we grew up on.  We used to make swords out of sticks and tree branches and run around in the street and through that backyard…they were some of the best years of my life!  And so without further ado, here are some of my favorite photos from this beautiful day!
