Abigail and I discovered Great Shiplock Park last year on a cute post-workday Italian picnic date, which was promptly interrupted by a horde of Pokemon Go-ers catching ’em all while I was trying to precariously construct a prosciutto/pomodoro/gran padano/olive oil sandwich (omg).
So when I thought of great engagement session locations in Richmond, Great Shiplock Park logically came to mind. I used this model:
POKEMON -> ENGAGEMENT SESSION -> ??? -> PROFIT
This is how everybody else thinks, right?

Serena and I met while I was on assignment in DC photographing a group of research students from California visiting Capitol Hill, and she was one of the researchers! I’m so glad I got to hang out with her + her fiancé Jenson, and their amazing dog Ricky! It was incredibly cold + windy, but I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that it only made the session better! They are wonderful people; not only were they totally natural in front of the camera, but I could instantly tell that they had a strong connection and spirit of togetherness that comes right through in their images. I cannot wait to capture their wedding this summer!
